Sozo - Wholeness in your homeschooling

We can imagine the day is scorching, the streets are crowded, people everywhere. Jesus, along with his disciples, is walking through masses of people. It is utter chaos with everyone bumping into each other, so congested that it’s hard to even take a step forward. A woman emerges from the crowd, her face withered in pain. In one quick motion she spots Jesus and lunges towards Him, reaching in haste for the hem of His garment. Her hand brushes it and Jesus stops and looks around. Even though there are countless others pressed against Him, Jesus feels this very specific touch. He locks eyes with the woman, she shivers in fear. Will He scold her? Yell at her? Accuse her of wrong? No. His eyes soften and a simple sentence He utters, and it’s the sweetest words she’s ever heard: “take heart daughter, your faith has healed you” (Matthew 9:22, NIV).

The woman’s touch was laced with faith and unwavering certainty that even a simple graze of Christ’s garments would hold enough power to heal her. She believed that He could bring wholeness to her very sick body. And she was right.

The word healed in this passage can be translated to a version of the Greek word sozo. Her faith had given her sozo, or wholeness. And isn't that what we want for ourselves and our children? To be so totally reliant on Christ's grace in our lives, families and homeschools that we reach out to Him in faith, even in the midst of our messy, crowded, and chaotic homeschool days?

This is our vision for The Sozo Journal; that we would be able to create a space where you, dear reader, can be encouraged to reach for Christ daily. For when you reach out to Him you are given the grace necessary to cultivate wholeness in your home and in your children’s education; you are given the sozo you so desire.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always, in each and every homeschool day and beyond.

With love,

The Sozo Team
